RoundGlass Living: Food Home Page

This project came about during a restructuring of the RoundGlass Living product. During that process, I redesigned cards, banners, and other components for the new iteration of the site. For this project, I combined many of these new components and created some additional ones to build a page that showcases all the different types of content in the food section in a dynamic and engaging way. You can view the full page here.

One of the content types I wanted to showcase prominently is the ingredients. The food content creators made a library of all of the most commonly used ingredients from the recipes on the site. In my research of other recipe and food sites, I had not found many other examples of this. Since this feature felt very unique to RoundGlass, I wanted to present it in a unique way.

One of the ways that the content creators had tagged each ingredient was with the health benefits. I felt that this would be a useful way for users to browse the library. Each category had at least nine ingredients and some had more than 30, so I created different layouts with different numbers of items to make the section change dynamically when the user selects different health benefits. The content team hired an illustrator to do illustrations of each ingredient, so I made sure to arrange them in a visually appealing way.

Courses are the main content type that is available in most of the sections on RoundGlass Living. In the food section, videos show chefs walking through the process of cooking a number of different recipes that are all based around a theme. I showed the chef prominently to create a connection with the teacher before a user commits to engaging with this longer form content type. I showed pictures of four of the recipes from the course to entice users to learn more.

I also designed a responsive version of this page. You can view the full mobile page here.
